This hand carved bone Toki pendant is a beautiful piece of jewellery, with Paua shell accents and a brown stain on the left side to add contrast and detail. This traditional Maori styled necklace comes with a black wax cord. The binding is tight, which is paramount for a long-lasting Toki. The height that the pendant hangs at can be adjusted using the sliding knots. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.
The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Maori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.
